What we make

Made to measure, no compromises

A built-in wardrobe uses every centimetre — where ready-made furniture leaves gaps.

01

From floor to ceiling

We use the full height of the room — no wasted space at the top.

02

Sliding or hinged

You choose the doors to suit the space and your taste — with smooth Blum hardware.

03

A made-to-measure interior

Shelves, drawers, a pull-down rail, a shoe compartment — organised around your needs.

04

For awkward spaces

Sloping ceilings, niches, hallways, narrow corners — this is exactly where a fitted wardrobe wins.

Types of wardrobes

Which fitted wardrobe to choose

The choice depends on the room, the space in front of the wardrobe and what you will keep in it. These are the solutions we make most often in Sofia.

01

Built-in wardrobe up to the ceiling

It fills the whole wall or niche from floor to ceiling and looks like part of the room — maximum storage.

02

With sliding doors

The doors take no space when opened — suitable for bedrooms and corridors where space in front of the wardrobe is tight.

03

With hinged doors

Full access to the whole interior at once, with Blum soft-close hinges. Suitable when there is room in front of the wardrobe.

04

In a niche or under a sloping ceiling

We use niches, columns and sloping ceilings where a ready-made wardrobe simply will not fit.

05

Hallway wardrobe

Space for coats, shoes and a mirror — making use of every centimetre of the corridor.

06

Walk-in wardrobe

A separate room with open shelves, hanging rails and drawers — when you have a room or a niche for it.

Prices

How much does a fitted wardrobe cost

The price of a wardrobe depends on the design — the width and height, the type of doors (sliding or hinged), the door material (chipboard, MDF, mirror or glass) and the interior fittings — drawers, a pull-down rail, shoe shelves, lighting.

That is why we come to your address free of charge, measure the niche or wall and prepare a 3D design with an exact quote — with no obligation. The quote includes materials, manufacture, delivery, carrying up to your flat and installation.

Built-in or free-standing

Built-in or free-standing wardrobe — what is the difference

A free-standing wardrobe is a piece of furniture that stands in front of the wall — with a back, sides and a top, and usually with empty space above and at the sides. A built-in fitted wardrobe uses the wall, niche or corner itself: it runs from floor to ceiling and wall to wall, with no gaps where dust collects.

The difference is big in three things:

  • Space. A built-in wardrobe uses the full height of the room. The top part — above 2 m — is ideal for suitcases, bedding and seasonal clothes.
  • Look. It looks like part of the room, not like a piece of furniture put into it. Especially important in a bedroom and hallway.
  • Awkward spaces. Niches, columns, sloping ceilings, corners and the space above a door — where a ready-made wardrobe simply does not fit.

A free-standing wardrobe makes sense if you move often or if the room is standard and the budget is the main criterion. If you are furnishing a home you will live in for a long time, a built-in wardrobe is almost always the better investment.

Doors

Sliding or hinged doors — how to choose

The doors are the first decision for any wardrobe, and they depend above all on how much space there is in front of it:

Sliding doorsHinged doors

If there is less than about 60–70 cm in front of the wardrobe, sliding doors are usually the only comfortable option. If there is enough space, hinged doors give better access and more freedom in the interior layout. In the 3D design we show both options before you decide.

The interior

How to organise the inside of a wardrobe

The biggest advantage of a fitted wardrobe is not on the outside but on the inside. We organise it around what you actually keep, not to a standard plan:

Hanging zones

Long clothes — coats, dresses, suits — need a rail at a height where the clothes do not touch the bottom; usually a zone of around 150 cm. Short clothes — shirts, jackets, trousers — can hang on two rails one above the other, each around 100 cm high. That way you fit twice as much in the same width.

Shelves and drawers

Shelves for folded clothes are most practical when they are not too tall — that way the piles do not fall over. Drawers with Blum hardware are ideal for underwear, socks and accessories and open fully.

The top part

The space above 2 m is for things you use rarely — suitcases, bedding, winter clothes in summer. In tall wardrobes we can fit a pull-down rail — a rail you pull down with a handle to reach the clothes at the top.

Shoes and accessories

Pull-out shoe shelves, boxes for belts and ties, a mirror on the inside of the door, lighting that switches on when you open it.

The best way is to tell us what you have — how many long clothes, how many pairs of shoes, who will use the wardrobe. We design the interior around that.

Dimensions

Dimensions that make a wardrobe comfortable

  • Depth of around 60 cm — the standard for a wardrobe with hangers, so that the clothes do not touch the doors. With sliding doors, room is added for the tracks.
  • Depth of around 35–45 cm — enough for a wardrobe with shelves only, for example in a hallway or for a shoe cabinet.
  • Width of one door — usually between about 40 and 60 cm for hinged doors. Wider doors are heavy and strain the hinges.
  • Height up to the ceiling — a fitted wardrobe is made to the real height of the room, which in Sofia ranges from under 2.50 m in panel blocks to over 3 m in older buildings.

These numbers are a guide. We measure every wardrobe on site, because walls, floors and ceilings are rarely perfectly straight.

By room

A wardrobe for every room

01

Bedroom

A built-in wardrobe along the whole wall, often together with bedside tables and a chest of drawers in the same style.

02

Hallway and corridor

A shallow wardrobe for coats, a shoe cabinet, a bench and a mirror — in the narrowest place in the home.

03

Children’s room

A wardrobe that grows with the child — with adjustable shelves and rails that move over the years.

04

Under a sloping ceiling

A wardrobe that follows the slope of an attic ceiling — with no wasted space.

05

In a niche

The niche becomes a wardrobe from floor to ceiling — with doors or open, as you prefer.

06

Walk-in wardrobe

A separate room or part of a room with open shelves, rails and drawers along the whole wall.

Materials

Materials and door types

The doors determine how the whole wardrobe looks — and the whole room. The most common options:

  • Laminate doors — practical and durable, in many colours and wood finishes.
  • Matt or gloss MDF — smooth, with no visible edging, a modern look. Gloss reflects light and makes the room look bigger.
  • Mirror — especially suitable in narrow bedrooms and hallways. A mirrored door is also a full-length mirror.
  • Glass — frosted or coloured, for a lighter look.
  • Combinations — for example a wood finish with a mirrored door in the middle.

Inside, the carcass is made of boards suitable for heavy loads, and the hardware is Blum with a lifetime guarantee. If you are furnishing the whole apartment, the wardrobe doors can be in the same material as the kitchen and hallway — see apartment furnishing.

Attic

Wardrobes under sloping ceilings and in attics

Attics and top floors of older buildings often have sloping ceilings that make ready-made wardrobes completely unusable — they simply do not fit. A fitted wardrobe follows the slope of the ceiling:

  • The tall part is for hangers and long clothes.
  • The low part under the slope is for drawers, shelves and boxes — space that would otherwise stay empty.
  • The doors are cut to the slope, so the wardrobe looks like part of the wall.

Exact measuring is especially important here — the angle of the slope is rarely the same along the whole wall, so we measure it at several points.

Mistakes

Common wardrobe mistakes

  1. A wardrobe that does not reach the ceiling. It leaves space that collects dust and is never used.
  2. Hinged doors in a narrow room. The doors hit the bed and the wardrobe never opens fully.
  3. Shelves that are too deep. Things at the back get lost. For folded clothes, shallower shelves or drawers are more practical.
  4. Only shelves or only a rail. A wardrobe should be organised around the clothes, not to a template.
  5. Cheap hardware. Hinges and drawer runners are used every day — they determine how many years the wardrobe will work like new.

Homes in Sofia

Wardrobes for panel-block, brick and new-build apartments

Every home in Sofia has its own features, and a fitted wardrobe adapts to them:

Panel-block apartments

Bedrooms in Lyulin, Mladost, Druzhba and Nadezhda are often small, with lower ceilings. Here a built-in sliding wardrobe with a mirror is the best solution — it takes no space in front of it, reaches the ceiling and makes the room look bigger.

Older buildings

In the Centre, Lozenets and Oborishte the ceilings are high — often over 3 m — and the walls are rarely straight. A tall wardrobe with a pull-down rail and an upper row of cupboards uses the full height, and exact measuring takes care of the irregularities.

New builds

New buildings have more niches, columns and shafts, and often a space planned for a walk-in wardrobe. It is best to plan the wardrobes together with the renovation — for example, so that power can be provided for lighting inside the wardrobe. See furnishing a new-build apartment.

Details

Lighting and details that make the difference

  • LED lighting inside the wardrobethat switches on when the door opens — especially handy in deep wardrobes and walk-in wardrobes.
  • A mirror on the inside of the door, when you do not want a mirrored front.
  • Soft-close drawers and dividers for underwear and accessories.
  • A pull-out rail or a trouser rack.
  • Handles or handleless — hidden profiles or a push-to-open system for a clean look.

All of this is planned in the design, so it is built in and not visible from outside.

A bedroom in one style

Wardrobe, bed and bedside tables in one style

When the wardrobe is made together with the rest of the bedroom furniture, the room looks finished: the wardrobe, bed, bedside tables and chest of drawers are in the same materials and colours. If you are furnishing the whole home, the same approach applies to the hallway, living room and kitchen — see custom furniture for every room.

You work with one person in charge and one design, and installation follows one schedule — without coordinating different companies.

Care

How to keep your wardrobe like new

  • Do not overload one shelf or rail — spread out the heavy things.
  • Wipe the dust off the sliding tracks every few months — that way the doors run easily.
  • Clean mirrors and gloss with a soft cloth and glass cleaner, without abrasives.
  • If a door “drops” over time, do not force it — adjusting the hinges is quick.

Hallway

Hallway wardrobe — what to plan for

The hallway is the narrowest and busiest place in the home — everyone goes in and out several times a day. A good hallway wardrobe solves several things at once:

  • Coats for every member of the family — with enough room for winter jackets, which take up much more space than summer ones.
  • Shoes — pull-out or angled shelves, often in a shallower module so it does not narrow the corridor.
  • Somewhere to sit — a bench for putting on shoes, sometimes with storage underneath.
  • A full-length mirror — on the door or separately.
  • Keys, bags and small things — a small shelf or drawer by the entrance.

When the corridor is narrow, the wardrobe can have different depths along its length — deeper for hangers and shallower for shoes — so that a comfortable passage remains.

Mirror

Mirrored wardrobe — when it makes sense

Mirrored doors are one of the most common wishes for a fitted wardrobe — and in many cases they really are the best solution:

  • In small bedrooms — the mirror visually “doubles” the room and reflects the light from the window.
  • In narrow hallways — it is a wardrobe and a full-length mirror at the same time, without taking extra space.
  • With sliding doors — a large smooth panel looks best precisely as a mirror or glass.

A mirror is not a good idea opposite the bed if you do not like seeing yourself when you wake up, or in rooms with a lot of direct light, where the reflection can dazzle. Then a combination — a mirror on just one of the doors — is a good compromise. You see all of this in the 3D design before you decide.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What types of wardrobes do you make?

We make hinged and sliding wardrobes, walk-in wardrobes, hallway and bedroom wardrobes, and built-in solutions for awkward niches and sloping ceilings.

Can you make a wardrobe for an awkward space?

Yes — this is exactly where a fitted wardrobe wins. We make solutions for sloping ceilings, narrow corridors, corners and niches where ready-made furniture does not work.

What goes inside?

We organise the interior around your needs — shelves, drawers, pull-out hanging rails, shoe compartments, lighting. Everything is planned around what you will keep in it.

How long does manufacture take?

Manufacture and installation usually take 2–4 weeks, depending on the size and complexity. We start with a free measuring visit at your address and a clear quote.

What guarantee do you give?

We give a 10-year guarantee on workmanship with normal use and a lifetime guarantee on Blum hardware.

Are the design and measuring visit free?

Yes. Measuring at your address and the 3D design with a quote are always free and with no obligation — you only pay if you decide to work with us.

Are installation and delivery included?

Yes. Delivery, carrying up to your flat and installation are included, at no extra cost.

Which areas of Sofia do you work in?

We work across the whole of Sofia — Lyulin, Mladost, Lozenets, Vitosha, Iztok, the Centre and every other district.

How does payment work?

Payment is in two parts — before the work starts and after it is finished. The amounts are set out in the quote and written into the contract.

How deep should a wardrobe be?

For a wardrobe with hangers — around 60 cm, so that the clothes do not touch the doors. For a wardrobe with shelves only, for example in a hallway, around 35–45 cm is enough.

Can I have a wardrobe with mirrored doors?

Yes. Mirrored doors are especially suitable for narrow bedrooms and hallways — they make the room look bigger and serve as a full-length mirror.

Can the wardrobe be in the same style as the kitchen?

Yes. If we furnish the whole apartment, the doors of the wardrobes, hallway and kitchen can be in the same materials and colours.

Can there be lighting inside the wardrobe?

Yes. LED lighting that switches on when the door opens is planned in the design together with the power supply, so it stays hidden.

Is a fitted wardrobe suitable for a panel-block apartment?

Yes — especially with sliding doors and a mirror. It takes no space in front of it, reaches the ceiling and makes a small bedroom look bigger.

How long does a fitted wardrobe last?

With normal use — many years. We give a 10-year guarantee on workmanship and a lifetime guarantee on Blum hardware, because hinges and runners are the parts that wear out first in cheap wardrobes.

Can I change the design after I see it in 3D?

Yes. Changes to the 3D design before production are free — doors, colours, interior layout, handles.

Can you make a wardrobe under the stairs or above a door?

Yes. We make wardrobes and cupboards under stairs, above doors and in other awkward places, using exact measurements taken on site. That is exactly where a fitted wardrobe wins most over a ready-made one.

Do you make walk-in wardrobes?

Yes. We make walk-in wardrobes in a separate room or in part of a room — with open shelves, rails, drawers and lighting.

Can I see material samples before ordering?

Yes. We bring samples of doors, worktops and colours to the measuring visit. You choose on the spot, and the 3D design is made to the exact measurements and the colours you picked.

Do you remove old furniture?

Yes, if needed we remove the old furniture, and where necessary we also do plumbing and electrical work – for example for the kitchen or bathroom.

Do you work with companies and issue invoices?

Yes. We also work with companies and issue invoices.

What does the guarantee not cover?

The guarantee covers defects in the materials and hardware. It does not cover mechanical damage or water damage – for example a broken worktop or material swollen by water.

Can I order if I am abroad at the moment?

You can start from a distance – send us the floor plan and photos on Viber. Measuring is done on site in Sofia on a day and time that suit you, and you approve the 3D design before manufacture starts.
